Chris Thorpe

Tax Director

Chris joined Albert Goodman in 2021 having previously worked as a tax lecturer and in practice with several smaller accountancy firms. Before qualifying as a Chartered Tax Adviser with Grant Thornton in the east Midlands, Chris had graduated with a law degree from Reading University and was called to the Bar by Lincoln’s Inn (though he never practised). He is now a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Taxation and full member of the Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners.

Chris’s expertise lies predominantly with personal and capital taxes (inheritance and capital gains tax), but with a specialism towards both UK and offshore trusts and succession planning. He advises small and medium-sized business and partnerships as well as individuals and has developed a particular interest within the agricultural sector.
