I'm so pleased that I approached Albert Goodman Chartered Accountants to get some advice on the Capital Gains Tax implications of various property sales in relation to my divorce. Not only did Anne and Isobel provide me with some excellent and most useful information on how best to assess our CGT liabilities, they were also extremely kind and considerate at what has been a most unsettling and stressful time. I could not recommend them more highly, both professionally and personally, and I look forward to working with them to settle our tax bills when our property sales complete.

For some years we have had very positive experience working with Albert Goodman for our charity’s auditing needs. Their team has demonstrated professionalism and expertise, and the auditors have been thorough and attentive to detail, ensuring that our financial records are accurate and compliant with all regulations. They took the time to explain their findings in a clear and concise manner, making the entire process seamless and stress-free. We have been impressed with their commitment to customer service. They were always available to answer any questions and provided valuable insights that helped us improve our financial practices.

Albert Goodman is an exceptional professional, diverse and helpful accountancy business. Their range of professional services have become a vital part of my developing business, to ensure continued compliance and transparency. I can not recommend Albert Goodman highly enough! 5 Star Plus, with specific praise to Ellis who is a huge asset to both my business and indeed Albert Goodman.

Had to use the Financial Ombudsman Service to force Albert Goodman to make a fair redress for their delay in selling investments. They made a full and final offer that did not include all elements of the loss that they had caused. I am not sure if this was incompetence or maybe they think it is ok not to make good losses caused by them. They have now paid redress as instructed to by the Ombudsman but have offered no explanation or apology as to why we had to use the Ombudsman to get a fair settlement from them. I find their attitude appalling. You can see details of the upheld complaint on the Financial Ombudsman website under Decision reference DRN-4692323 In response to the Albert Goodman reply. I now view them more negatively than before following their reply. They have not been correct with their facts. Firstly the ombudsman did not agree with their methodology if they had agreed with it the complaint would not have been upheld. They were told they had to add interest for the delay they caused because the estate was 'deprived of use of this money'. This was not included in their calculation methodology when they offered a full and final offer. They were also told to add interest on a number of amounts until final settlement. The ombudsman also made them refund their fees for the period of the delay they caused. Yes, they even tried to charge us fees for the period we had to stay with them while they sorted their mess out, unbelievable! The ombudsman upheld our complaint that they had not offered a fair settlement yet even now AG seem to think they did a good job!!! It would be so much nicer if they could just admit they were wrong and just apologise.

I have worked with Albert Goodman through my employer for over 9 years and have always found them to be very helpful, friendly and clear in advice through both year end accounts and payroll services. This same approach was echoed when I recently got involved in setting up a charity with clear advice on requirements of the Charity Commission and reporting provided.
