IT Support Apprentice

The role

An exciting apprenticeship opportunity has arisen within our IT Team in Taunton. This busy team provide support across our five Albert Goodman offices. The position is based in Taunton, however may involve travel to other sites.

You will be supporting with all aspects of our IT service, from assisting other teams at the helpdesk, through to desk rollouts and new implementations. You will support Windows, Azure, and Office 365 as well as a range of sector specific applications from a centralised data centre. Training will be given on the specifics of the position, including professional Microsoft training and examinations.

Alongside completing your day to day role, you will be studying for a Level 3 ICT apprenticeship through Bridgwater & Taunton College, starting this in January 2025. You can read out more about the apprenticeship here.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Troubleshooting individual desktop and system problems, diagnosing and solving hardware/software incidents
  • Assisting with incident and problem management impacting multiple users
  • Providing exceptional service support to the firm and third parties
  • Contributing to policies, processes and procedures
  • Installing, maintaining and supporting new applications
  • Working to service level agreements
  • Prioritising and managing several open cases and mini projects at one time
  • Keeping up to date with advancements in technology
  • Conducting reviews of services, application delivery, patching and anti-virus

What we need from you

This is a trainee position and we understand that you won’t have a large amount of experience in this field. Ideally, we are looking for somebody with customer service experience in any environment, who will embrace our values of being collaborative, trustworthy, progressive and impactful.

The essential skills are:

  • Experience of using technology and a passion for this area!
  • Problem solving skills
  • Great attitude and enthusiasm to support our people
