A Director with long-standing expertise in the Charity and NFP sector at Albert Goodman has been recognised with a specialist qualification.

Michelle Ferris has been a Chartered Accountant since 2008, and leads the firm’s team of accountants specialising in charities across the South West. She has now been awarded the Diploma in Charity Accounting (DChA) by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW).

Michelle has held various Trusteeships and is currently working with a charity providing refugee aid, as well as being a Trustee of the Somerset Community Foundation. She credits these positions with giving her a greater understanding of the pressures facing organisations in the third sector.

Michelle said, “I am delighted to have been successful in my application for the DChA. The Charity and NFP sector has unique challenges, as all sectors do, and my work as a trustee enables me to experience these at first hand and provide appropriate support.”

If you are a charity that requires further assistance or would like more information, please feel free to get in touch with Michelle.
