South West accountancy firm, Albert Goodman, has bolstered its tax team with four new senior appointments. This increase in headcount comes at a time of significant growth for the firm as it continues to expand its specialist teams and invests in building its presence across the region.

Lauren James becomes a partner in the personal tax team after joining Albert Goodman in June 2024 as a director. With over 20 years of experience advising private clients, Lauren will be leading the team as the firm continues to build its expertise.

Oli Bolam becomes senior manager in the corporate tax team. A new addition to the firm, Oli is an experienced tax consultant, specialising in corporation and research & development tax. He has previously held roles at PRWS, Forrest Brown and Crowe UK, amassing 12 years’ experience. Oli will support innovative companies with their corporation tax compliance requirements and completion of R&D claims.

Tom Butt also becomes a senior manager in the corporate tax team alongside Oli. Tom is a chartered tax adviser with 14 years of experience. New to Albert Goodman, he has previously held roles at Old Mill, Debenhams, Croner Taxwise and Azets. Tom has experience across a wide range of compliance and advisory tax issues and is excited to apply this to help Albert Goodman’s clients.

Andy Grey is a newly appointed Tax Director in the Corporate Tax Team. A further new addition, Andy has previously held senior roles at RSM UK and PKF Francis Clark. He brings a wealth of experience in Corporate Tax for SMEs and Larger Corporates and will have a particular focus on helping grow the Bristol market.

The promotions follow a period of significant growth for the South West accountancy firm. The business reported an annual turnover of £21.4 million last year, up 17 per cent on the year before. Albert Goodman is also the headline sponsor for the Bristol International Balloon Fiesta over the next three years.
