About the Foundation

The Albert Goodman Charitable Foundation supports a wide range of charitable and community-led initiatives, with a focus on making a meaningful local impact. Grants are available to registered charities, Community Interest Companies and other not-for-profit organisations or individuals, with particular emphasis on projects that promote education, social mobility and support for young people. The Foundation prioritises areas where Albert Goodman has a presence (including Somerset, Dorset, Bristol and North Somerset), and local causes rather than national.

The Foundation aims to distribute its available income each year and typically offers flexible grants of up to £2,000 per application, with the potential for multi-year support (subject to annual funding availability). Funding may be provided for specific projects or unrestricted use, and organisations may be supported for up to three consecutive years before a break in funding is required.

Apply to the foundation

Applicants are asked to provide key details about their organisation, the project or activity requiring funding, the amount requested, and how the funds will be used, alongside basic budget and timeline information. All applications are reviewed by the trustees, who collectively decide how funds are allocated. The application form is designed to be completed online or in paper form, and should not require a lot of time to complete.

We aim to come back to all applicants, but please note that we do not accept requests made without an application form, and will not consider additional paperwork, so please keep your application simple and to the form!

If you have any questions, please contact the trustees at [email protected] or use the contact form.
