This session will cover a general update from Michelle Ferris, before moving into the more specific topic of Employment Tax, delivered by Caroline Jones. Michelle Ferris - Partner - Specialist in Charity Accounting and Governance
Michelle is Albert Goodman’s Head of Charities and has worked in the not-for-profit sector for over 15 years. She assists charities with all areas of accounting and governance, including initial advice on charity set-ups, compliance work with accounts preparations, Independent Examinations and audits (Michelle is also an audit partner within the firm), and she advises boards and lectures on various areas of governance.
Caroline Jones - Head of Employment Tax
Caroline is Head of Employment Tax in our Bristol Office, bringing 50 years’ experience in tax, having started her career as an Inspector of Taxes in HMRC. Caroline has advised charities on all aspects of employment tax, working in the not-for-profit sector for over 20 years, covering a wide range of topics from National Minimum Wage challenges, tax treatment of volunteers, HMRC compliance reviews and employment status, to name a few.
