Richard joined Albert Goodman in 2018. He previously worked for HMRC for nearly 30 years, 10 of which were in the Appeals & Reviews Team dealing with often complex and novel issues.  He likes to make it clear he actually joined HM Customs & Excise and HMRC was imposed upon him. 

Richard is experienced in advising on a wide range of issues from compliance, such as VAT registration or importation of goods, to high-value land and property transactions or business reorganisations. 

Richard has successfully helped clients with HMRC checks including on several occasions successfully challenging million pound plus assessments made by HMRC. 

His experience allows him to tailor his advice to suit the needs of his clients providing practical, commercial and strategic advice.
