Dan James joined Albert Goodman as a Partner in 2022, to head the firm’s Business Recovery & Insolvency team, alongside his colleague and fellow insolvency practitioner, Laurence Russell.
He is a Licensed Insolvency Practitioner with over 20 years’ experience helping companies and individuals in financial difficulty.
He has previously held a similar position in an international professional services firm and prior to that for a large regional accountancy firm.
He aims to provide an honest and professional approach to help you refocus and energise the recovery of your business. The primary focus of any discussion is always to rescue the business if at all possible. Whether it be a business turnaround, an accelerated business sale process, a voluntary arrangement or if necessary a close down/liquidation situation. In addition he also assists solvent businesses with tax-efficient exit strategies, primarily through a solvent liquidation (MVL).
Dan works with a number of accountants, solicitors and banks, who all look to add value to their client relationships, expand their range of services and help their clients. The key message to clients is to seek guidance and support at the earliest opportunity, as the earlier you get advice, the more options there may be available.
He is licenced by ICAEW and is also a member of R3 (the UK’s trade association for Business Recovery Professionals).
Outside of work Dan is married with two young children and he enjoys spending time walking his puppy and learning how to play golf (still very much a beginner!).
