South West accountancy Albert Goodman has appointed its second corporate finance partner within the last twelve months, with the promotion of corporate finance specialist, Matthew Chandler.
Matt, a specialist in mergers and acquisitions, share valuations, exits and deal support, graduated from Cardiff University with a first in Mathematics, whereupon he immediately joined the team at Albert Goodman.
Matt’s Albert Goodman career initially began in the audit team, eventually becoming a lead manager for the firm’s medium and large groups; a move which saw Matt develop extensive audit, accountancy and business advisory skills.
Offered the opportunity to pursue his interest in helping business owners achieve their goals, Matt then joined the firm’s Corporate Finance team, as a corporate finance specialist.
Speaking of his appointment to partner, Matt said:
“Having been with Albert Goodman from the outset of my career, now to be a part of the leadership of the firm is really exciting. The support provided, and opportunities to learn new specialisms, have helped me grow a lot as a person. I’m looking forward to repaying that support by driving the development and growth of our audit and corporate finance offerings.”
Iain McVicar, managing partner at Albert Goodman, added: “We’re incredibly excited to bring Matt into the partnership team. As a long-serving member of the team, we’ve seen Matt grow from strength to strength over the years.
“Always learning, developing and adding to his skills, Matt has grasped every challenge and opportunity offered to him. His knowledge and capabilities have been of huge value over the years and I’ve no doubt as partner, that will long continue.”
A keen hockey player and endurance event lover, Matt is also a member of Taunton Round Table, helping support the local community.
For 158 years, Albert Goodman has been helping people and businesses across the South West; from its HQ in Taunton and offices in Weymouth, Yeovil, Weston-super-Mare and Bristol.
While steadfast financial thinking will always remain core to its proposition, Albert Goodman has added many new strings to its bow over the last century and a half. But in that time, it has remained fiercely independent, placing its focus on hard work, community and expertise to fuel its success.
