The South West-based accountancy firm continues to strengthen its trainee scheme, launched in 2023
Albert Goodman, the leading South West-based accountancy firm, has welcomed 21 new trainees to its highly respected trainee programme, alongside two 12-month business placement students.
The 2025 cohort marks another strong year for the programme, which was launched in 2023 to provide graduates, school leavers and those wanting a career change in the region with fully funded accountancy training, hands-on experience and a clear pathway into the accounting industry.
With roles offered across all departments of Albert Goodman, the new intake will be based at the firm’s Taunton, Yeovil, Weston-super-Mare and Bristol offices, highlighting the firms’ region wide commitment to creating career opportunities in accounting sector.
Earlier this year, Albert Goodman announced the promotion of three of its directors to partner, including Tom Stone – part of the Farms and Estates team – who originally joined the firm in 2014 as a school leaver through the trainee programme route.
Sarah Bowden, People Director at Albert Goodman, said: “Welcoming our 2025 cohort of 21 trainees and two business placement students is another proud milestone for Albert Goodman. It underlines our ongoing commitment to investing in the next generation of talent in the accounting industry.
“Our people are at the heart of everything we do, and we’re pleased to be providing school leavers, graduates and placement students with the opportunity to build long and rewarding careers here in the South West.”
The 2025 cohort joins Albert Goodman during a period of sustained growth, with the Taunton-headquartered firm reporting an 11% revenue increase across FY25, alongside a 25% rise in new client wins.
Albert Goodman was also announced this year as the Bristol International Balloon Fiesta’s principal partner, signing a three-year sponsorship deal to play a key role in the continued success of the cherished South West event as it approaches its 50th anniversary.
Sarah Bowden continued: “Albert Goodman has been operating in communities throughout the South West for over 150 years, and welcoming new cohorts of trainees and placement students is always an exciting time as our presence across the region continues to grow. We look forward to supporting our new cohort to thrive as they embark on their journeys with us and to see many of them develop into future leaders of the firm.”
