From August 2019 until August 2020, accountancy and business services firm, Albert Goodman, will be sponsoring CHSW’s £50 Challenge initiative.
The initiative sees workplace teams given an initial £50 and tasking them to grow the funds in just 50 working days. Cake sales, raffles, quizzes and workplace fun and games are all encouraged but firms are being challenged to be as creative as possible.
Amanda Gallagher, CHSW Corporate Partnerships Fundraiser said, “By sponsoring the challenge, Albert Goodman are echoing the very principle of the challenge itself; with their initial investment being used to raise significant funds for the families we currently support and those who will be needing us today, tomorrow and in the future.”
CHSW offers care and respite to more than 500 children with life-limiting conditions and their families at its three South West children’s hospices – Charlton Farm near Bristol, Little Bridge House near Barnstaple, and Little Harbour in St Austell.
“Albert Goodman’s kind sponsorship will allow Children's Hospice South West to direct maximum fundraising income to the families we support meaning all the funds raised will help us to provide respite, palliative and end-of-life care, as well as essential support for the whole family, for as long as they need us,” added Amanda.
Michelle Ferris, Director of Charities and Not-for-Profits at Albert Goodman said, “It’s great that we are able to sponsor CHSW with their £50 challenge. Our staff have visited Charlton Farm and the work undertaken by CHSW is truly inspiring. The facility is an overwhelmingly happy place, where families can be happy together, despite being in very difficult situations. We believe it’s important that businesses across the region give something back and the £50 challenge is a fantastic and practical way for organisations to be able to do that.”
Companies signed up to the initiative will be able to go head-to-head and jostle for a place at the top of the £50 Challenge leader board. The charity is encouraging companies to sign up from 16 September – 22 November and will host a celebration event to share how much everyone has raised collectively.
