Albert Goodman are delighted to have been nominated for Large Employer of the Year at the Somerset Apprenticeship Awards. The Somerset Apprenticeships Awards recognises and celebrates Somerset employers and the contribution made by offering apprenticeships across their business.
In order to be nominated, the employer must conform to the size definition in their respective category, be based in Somerset and must have made an outstanding contribution to the regional workforce as well as the development of a young and highly skilled workforce.
Albert Goodman's Technical and Training Director Sophie Parkhouse said "We are really pleased to have been nominated for this award, which is a testament to the work that we've put into developing our apprenticeship programme over the past few years. We work hard to make sure our apprentices get the right balance of on the job training and the very best technical qualifications that will allow them to flourish in the future careers as Accountants, Tax Advisors and Financial Planners"
Head of Human Resources at Albert Goodman, Simon Irvin said "We've invested heavily in our training programme over the past few years, and this year we became a member of the 5% Club, where we committed to having at least 5% of our employees on apprenticeships. A third of our employees (102) are under 30, we have already filled 12 of our trainee vacancies for this year and we are recruiting for a further 10 training vacancies this summer so the future is looking bright".
