We are pleased to have strengthened our Tax Consulting team with two new appointments. Elaine Grose joins from another regional tax consulting firm, and James England joins after 12 years of experience with a number of local firms.Elaine Grose
After leaving university, Elaine took her first graduate job in the east of the country working for MacIntyre Hudson. The pull of the West-Country brought Elaine home where she then spent five years working for a large regional firm in her native Cornwall, before spending another five years working for a firm in Exeter, before joining Albert Goodman. Elaine has been advising owner managers since 2004 and has thus enjoyed wide-ranging experience as a tax consultant. Her working week can range from advising businesses on employee share schemes, corporate and property transactions to individual tax advisory.
Commenting on her appointment, Elaine said “I am pleased to have joined the well-established and growing Tax department which has a significant tax resource, and a wide ranging experience base. I enjoy working with owner managers to understand both their business and personal goals and providing integrated tax advice to fit. I look forward to building good working relationships with the clients of Albert Goodman”
James joins Albert Goodman following ten years with a firm in Martock – where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant and two years at Battens Solicitors in Yeovil as a Tax and Trust Accountant, where he began additional training as a Chartered Tax Advisor. James has experience working on capital gains tax, relief advice and computations and holdover relief claims. He has also worked on personal, partnership and trust tax advice and the preparation of tax returns and repayment claims for a wide range of clients.
Commenting on his appointment James said “I’m excited to work for such a proactive, forward facing company with enthusiastic and friendly staff. I am looking forward to being part of an experienced and knowledgeable Tax Team and to further my career, experience and knowledge during this time of drastic change in the UK Income Tax system.
