Following a degree in accountancy and finance, I qualified with a national firm of accountants, then joined Albert Goodman in 1994. Since becoming a partner in 1999 I developed a portfolio of larger local businesses in a variety of sectors providing a comprehensive service, including many family-owned businesses.
In May 2016 I became the Managing Partner of Albert Goodman assuming overall responsibility for the firm’s management, strategy and our 300 staff and partners across our 8 offices in Somerset and Dorset. I still retain a smaller client base and assist clients in a variety of corporate transactions such as business sales, acquisitions, management buyouts and reorganisations. Richard takes ultimate responsibility for maintaining the Albert Goodman culture and reputation developed over 150 years. This is something that the firm cherish’s along with our long-standing presence in the local community. We have always sought to adopt a modern approach
with traditional values and I am sure many of our values now would have been equally relevant in years gone.
Albert Goodman is fortunate to be in a region that is brimming with local talent so we try to support and facilitate local growth where possible. We take great pride in our ability to offer a range and quality of professional services associated with city firms delivered by our teams who are based locally. We work with many fantastic local businesses and one of the most satisfying elements of our role is helping these businesses
prosper and grow. The Somerset and Dorset business environments are very dynamic with many of our clients successfully operating nationally and internationally.
