Michael Cahill

Michael Cahill qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2003 and has since specialised in providing accounting, tax and commercial advice to incorporated and owner managed businesses. He works with clients in a wide range of sectors including construction and property, engineering, wholesale, retail and the services industry. Michael works with business across Somerset in towns such as Taunton, Bridgwater, Burnham-on-Sea and Wellington

Michael Cahill has a real understanding of both the financial and emotional pressures clients may experience when running their own business – his parents started their own company in 1995. His brother now works in the company as well and Michael continues to provide support, which includes the accountancy and tax affairs. Michael aims to help to provide clients with pro-active advice and find them solutions to the issues they face which are innovative but practical. Michael is skilled at conveying accounting practice clearly, without jargon and makes clear the implications and effects of various courses of action will have.

Michael Cahill has also taken on the responsibility of judging the Albert Goodman Family Business award at the Somerset Business Awards and takes great enjoyment in getting to know the fantastic Somerset Businesses that enter.

Outside of work, Michael is busy spending time with his young family and doing lots of DIY in his family home in Taunton.

We have been delighted with the help and guidance Michael Cahill has provided us over the past five years. Michaels advice is always ‘on point’ and easy to understand. He quickly appreciated our business and offered sound advise and guidance through the day to day accountancy running of the business to finally guiding us through to a successful business sale.

Michael is always approachable, extremely quick at responding and provides a level head through what often seems quite complex areas.

We would without doubt recommend Michael Cahill at Albert Goodman to anyone wishing to have the confidence that they are going to get a quality job done but also deal with a really super guy.
