South West Accountancy Firm, Albert Goodman, has announced a new two-year partnership with Sophie Luff, captain of Somerset County Cricket Club’s women’s team.
Albert Goodman has already provided steadfast support to women’s sporting community across the region over the last three years, as partners of Bristol Sport, sponsoring Bristol City Women for the last three seasons, supporting Firebrands Corporate Hockey League, as well as other local women’s football clubs across the South West region.
This newest partnership branches out into women’s cricket, directly supporting the female sporting talent in the vicinity of Albert Goodman’s offices.
Luff captains the Somerset women’s team in the new Tier One professional county cricket structure, which commences tomorrow. The Albert Goodman logo will feature on the back of Luff’s bat for the next two years.
Speaking about the partnership, Sophie Luff said:
“I am thrilled to sign as a brand ambassador for Albert Goodman. Albert Goodman is an established, highly respected and trusted business, and I truly appreciate their support.
I’m excited about the forthcoming season, and it’s a privilege to captain the first Somerset women’s team of the professional era, in the year the club celebrates its 150th anniversary. It’s always an honour to play in front of our supporters and we will be giving everything to win matches and entertain them along the way.
Albert Goodman have demonstrated their commitment to supporting women’s sport and I look forward to a long, successful partnership with them."
Stacey Jabbitt, Marketing Manager at Albert Goodman said:
“We are pleased to announce Sophie Luff as an Albert Goodman brand ambassador. Sophie is a hugely popular figure among Somerset supporters and we’re looking forward to seeing her lead the team out during this exciting season for women’s cricket. We wish her and her teammates every success for the season ahead.”
Sophie made her county debut in 2009 aged just 15. She joined Western Storm in 2016 and featured as a key member of their 2017 Super League winning team, scoring 30* in the final. Sophie captained Western Storm from 2020 – 2024 and has also featured in The Hundred, captaining Welsh Fire in the inaugural season and playing for London Spirit.
In September 2024 Sophie was announced as the first player to be given a professional contract with Somerset's new women's team.
