HMRC launched its campaign against health and wellbeing professionals on 7 October 2013, encouraging people such as physiotherapists, chiropractors, osteopaths, alternative medicine or therapy providers etc to come forward if they had not disclosed all income and gains. The deadline to make a full disclosure was 6 April 2014 and a dedicated Task Force has now started to follow up those who didn’t come forward.
Professionals who have missed the deadline and need to make a disclosure are now encouraged to call the Voluntary Disclosure Helpline on 0300 123 1077 as soon as possible. HMRC have advised that the penalty these professionals will pay will be lower than if HMRC comes to them first.
If you would like help with any voluntary disclosure, please do get in touch.
