Budget 2016 Summary

Mr Osborne gave, what could be, his final Autumn Statement yesterday. Whilst giving away to home owners by revamping SDLT on residential properties, he failed to be drawn on the detail of the deeper cuts to be made in the public sector. Only time will tell if he has done enough to deliver next year’s Autumn Statement.

In the period since the Budget in March, a number of consultation papers and discussion documents have been published by HMRC, and some of these proposals are summarised below. Draft legislation relating to many of these areas will be published on 10 December and so some of the details in this summary may change as a result.

Our summary also provides a reminder of other significant developments which are to take place from April 2015.
