Rachel joins Albert Goodman from Ernst & Young LLP, where she was a specialist adviser in the Energy and Environmental Infrastructure Advisory Group. Originating near Crewkerne, Somerset and spending much of her career in the South West, Rachel qualified as a Chartered Accountant with “Big Four” firm, KPMG.
More recently, Rachel has gained over five years of renewable energy sector experience at Ernst & Young LLP where she handled renewable energy projects for clients including StatoilHydro, General Electric, Renewable Energy Systems and E.On.
Commenting on the appointment, David Griffin, Managing Partner, says, “With increases in energy costs from traditional sources and the threat of power shortages in the future, many small businesses have been considering an investment in renewable energy. We are pleased to welcome Rachel Lawrence who has been involved in some of Europe’s largest renewable energy transactions. She brings large company experience to smaller local South West companies looking to invest in renewable – helping to evaluate investment options through cashflow modelling, producing business plans, securing finance for their projects and providing transaction support.”
Rachel Lawrence adds, “I am delighted to join Albert Goodman and cannot wait to work with its varied client base. It is an incredibly well-respected and professional firm, and I look forward to expanding Albert Goodman’s offering in the renewable energy sector. This new role will give me the perfect platform to maximise my knowledge and experience in the industry, and support many businesses as they plan for the future.”
Rachel will work with other corporate finance colleagues on company acquisitions and sales, financings and restructurings, as well as developing her own renewables practice. Rachel will be working with companies throughout the South West giving expert financing, financial modelling and renewable energy advice.
